Mile 262.8/65.2: Junction with NABESNA ROAD, 45 mile gravel access to the National Park. Private and primitive campsites are available between miles 26 and 28, Nebesna Road. The road fords several shallow creeks after mile 28. Check at the roadhouse for road conditions.

 

HART D RANCH and DOUBLE TREE RV PARK 822-3973 is at Slana, mile 0.5 Nabesna Road. Bronze sculptor Mary Frances DeHart has created an elegant B&B using her considerable imagination and artistic skill. Mile 256/72: GRIZZLY LAKE RANCH B&B 822-5214 Located 53 miles east of the Richardson Highway junction, with a spectacular view of Mount Sanford and Mount Drum. Half way between Anchorage and Dawson City; seven miles from the Nebesna Road to Wrangell-St. Elias National Park access. RV and tent camping, kitchenettes, showers. Stroll along the lake and watch eagles soar, fish for grayling, listen for loons, and observe many species of ducks.
