Established in 1942 as an officer's billet, Fireside took its name from a huge fire pit where soldiers stopped to warm themselves. The 54-room lodge served travelers until 1982, when a devestating wild fire leveled much of the settlement and 400,000 surrounding acres. Literally built from the ashes, present day Fireside continues the long tradition of hospitality to travelers. Fireside Inn features beautifully decorated rooms, all with brand new queen sized beds.
