BRAEBURN LODGE

At mile 55, Klondike Highway, one hour from Whitehorse and six hours from Dawsom. The Lodge is famous for its tasty, monster cinnamon buns, and serves as a stop on the Yukon Quest sled dog race. Braeburn's is located on the Trans-Canada Trail System. The Cinnamon Bun Dog Sled Race, a 200 mile event, is run the first weekend in February. The licensed dining area was enlarged in 2000, and new facilities added. Bus tours welcome Open year round.

Yes, that's a cinnamon bun she's holding! They're as good as they are big. Served fresh from the oven! Bottom photo shows fireweed covering hillsides at 50-mile hill, just south of the lodge. Fires bring new life to the forests, and provide fertile ground for tasty morel mushrooms.
